“All For Myself” is track 9 of Sufjan Stevens 2010 release “The Age of Adz.”  All songs on this record were written by Sufjan Stevens.

Sufjan Stevens is a indie folk and electronic multi-instrumentalist and singer- songwriter. He was born in Detroit and currently living in New York City.

“The Age of Adz” is Sufjan’s first full-length collection of songs, inspired by outsider artist Royal Robertson. An experimental electronic project, Stevens stripped away all fabric of narrative assets and imagined a record with a more primitive style.

Stevens says this album “[is] very dramatic and [has] a lot of intensity,” as he wanted the music to create visceral response in the body, rather than to tell a story.

“All For Myself” was sampled to make “Hood Politics” by Kendrick Lamar. The track was produced by Sounwave, Tae Beast, and Thundercat.

Kendrick Lamar is one of the most influential and iconic hip-hop artists of his generation, some deeming him as a disciple of 2pac's.

Sounwave is a Grammy-award winning record producer and 1/4 of TDE’s in-house production team "Digi+Phonics."  He produced or co-produced nearly every track on To Pimp A Butterfly.

Tae Beast is also a record producer and 1/4 of TDE’s "Digi+Phonics."  The other half is Dave Free and Willie B.
