Meek Mill Launches REFORM Alliance
On January 23, 2019, Meek Mill led a live-streamed press conference announcing the launch of the REFORM Alliance. The REFORM Alliance is a criminal justice reform organization whose mission is to “dramatically reduce the number of people who are unjustly under the control of the criminal justice system.” Van Jones, CNN Political Contributor and host of The Van Jones Show on CNN, will serve as REFORM’s CEO. Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin will serve as co-chair with Meek Mill. Other founding partners include Jay-Z, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Third Point LLC CEO Daniel Loeb, Galaxy Digital Founder & CEO Michael Novogratz, Vista Equity Partners Founder, Chairman & CEO Robert Smith, and Brooklyn Nets co-owner Clara Wu Tsai. The REFORM Alliance’s initial focus targets state probation and parole legislation.
